Hello, Product Desk users and automotive aftermarket enthusiasts! We’re excited to announce a new feature that we believe will significantly enhance your experience within Product Desk: the Offline Search Fitment Endpoint.

What is the Offline Search Fitment Endpoint?

The Offline Search Fitment Endpoint is a new API endpoint we’ve added to Product Desk. It’s designed to return all search fitment records associated with a specific search key and can also return the search fitment records that match a specified fitment definition, such as Year-Make-Model (YMM), Year-Make-Model-Submodel (YMMS), and so on.

Why is this Important?

Product Desk’s fitment functionality is tailored for aftermarket automotive resellers. It creates search fitment records that can be used in conjunction with year, make, model, etc., search functionality on your eCommerce website to return the correct parts that fit the vehicle searched for.

The new Offline Search Fitment Endpoint allows you to continue using Product Desk’s search fitment records, even when you aren’t directly able to access Product Desk. This means you can maintain seamless operation of your eCommerce site’s search functionality, ensuring your customers can always find the right parts for their vehicles.

How Does it Work?

The Offline Search Fitment Endpoint is easy to use. Here’s a quick overview of the query parameters:

  • definitionName (optional): If specified, the endpoint only returns search fitment records with the specified definition name. For example, you could set definitionName=YMM,YMMS,YMMSE to only get records with those definitions.
  • limit: Specifies the maximum number of records to be returned. The default value is 250. This, along with the lastFitmentId parameter can be used to manage larger queries.
  • lastFitmentId: Specifies the last fitment ID returned. This is used for pagination and its default value is 0.

The endpoint responds with a status of 200 OK and a JSON object containing an array of FlatFitmentDto objects and a Summary object.

Conclusion

The new Offline Search Fitment Endpoint is just one of the ways we’re working to make Product Desk the best product information management system for aftermarket automotive resellers and any other eCommerce vendors that need to manage fitment for the products they sell. We’re excited for you to try it out and see how it can enhance your eCommerce site’s search functionality. As always, we’re here to support you and answer any questions you may have. Happy selling!
