How Dynamics 365 enables remote workers

In 2020, many businesses had to move their employees out of the office and into remote work and, while some businesses are still working to bring people back in the office, many are finding themselves with employees that still want to work remotely. In fact, we are finding employees enjoy working from home!  Even as businesses have begun returning employees to the office, nearly 25% are still working fully remote and another 20% are working in a hybrid workplace. Those with legacy systems that are working in-office may find it difficult to adjust to the demands of working from home. Concerns regarding user access, data security, and the IT staff to maintain all of this can be daunting. That’s why a cloud-based software, such as Dynamics 365, is becoming a more appealing and transformative tool for many businesses.

Dynamics 365 Cloud First

Dynamics 365 is cloud first and fully accessible from any web browser or mobile device, which means you no longer must deal with servers or secure remote access desktops. Any employee in your organization with a Dynamics 365 user account can sign-in from anywhere and access the information they need – saving time and money!  Users can run financial reports, reconcile AP/AR, and post transactions all from the comfort of their own home and while traveling. If your organization utilizes developers or power-users, they can access back-end connections such as an SQL Server or Visual Studio right from their mobile or web browser.

Robust Security with Dynamics 365

Sensitive financial data needs to be protected and compliant, that’s why data in Dynamics 365 is encrypted both at the datacenter and while in transit between user devices to datacenters. Microsoft uses industry-standard TLS to effectively establish security-enhanced browser-to-server connections, ensuring data securely moves from desktop to datacenter. Dynamics 365 also uses an SQL Server cell level encryption for sensitive information, which can help organizations meet FIPS 140-2 compliance requirements. Whether your employees are combing through GL data or posting invoices – you can be sure all your data will be protected both when stored and in-transit.

Integration With Microsoft Products for All Businesses

Dynamics 365 can fully integrate with a suite Microsoft product, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, add-ins and more!  For example, if you are a user who works in finance, and you have a knack for working in Excel – you can export to excel seamlessly while also using the Dynamics 365 Excel add-in. And if you work in customer service, purchasing or sales ordering, be sure you take advantage of the D365 add-in for Outlook to view contact and order information right from the Outlook app. In addition, other Microsoft products such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps all integrate with Dynamics as well.

Microsoft Powerful Financial Reporting

Microsoft includes a host of pre-built reports and workspaces for financial reporting. Dynamics offers two powerful options for financial reporting – Management Reporter and Power BI.  Microsoft’s Management Reporter has a robust set of tools to customize your report which allows users to drill-down on main accounts and financial dimensions for reports such as the Income Statement or Cash Flows. And Microsoft’s Power BI can provide data and financial analysts with incredible tools to access and report on data. This is extremely useful for analyzing KPI’s such as inventory turnover, sales productivity, and gross profit margin.
