What's New In Dynamics 365 Finance: The Latest 10.0.38 Release!

Cash and Bank Management

Net customer and vendor balance: This feature eliminates the need for vendor and customer payment journals to settle open transactions. In its place netting journals are created.

Netting journals can be defined as a process where balances for customers and vendors are netted against one another. This update is hoping to reduce the exchange of money between organizations/customers and lessen any unnecessary payments and help customers save on transaction fees.

Settle bank statements with open customer invoices: This feature provides enhancements for reconciliation worksheets and bank statements. This update also reduces the amount of manual steps needed to settle open invoices and to generate customer/vendor payment journals.

To turn this feature on navigate to the Feature Management workspace and turn on the “Generate customer and vendor payments from bank statements and reconciliation” option.

General Ledger

Post foreign currency realized gains/losses for ledger settlements: This feature was released in 10.0.36, however the new version (10.0.38) provides some new capabilities. The most recent release posts foreign currency gains/losses for settlements when currency values of credits/debits are different.

This feature changes how determinations are made on ledger settlements. These decisions are now based on the type of currency used during the transaction (unless the ledger and the transaction currencies are different).

New enhancements for general ledger: This feature turns on a new page for balance inquiry and reports that use financial dimension sets to run. With this new release data is stored more efficiently and uses less space allowing the data to be shown more quickly.

Tax calculations integrated with project management and accounting transactions: Invoice proposal, project quotes/operations are some of the areas that are affected by this new feature.
